We are currently doing the three-part God-series, and today we are talking about the Holy Spirit.
In a sense it seems quite strange to ‘talk’ about the Holy Spirit, when essentially we ‘experience’ Him in many ways, encountering Him unknowingly at different times within our lives. God is a ‘talking’ God, the Self-Revealing One through Scripture and most dynamically through Christ Who is the express image and character of God incarnated as ’Son of Man’. However, He is also the ‘God of action’ and in this church age, the Holy Spirit is doing precisely that - being ‘active’ among us.
Though He is doing a host of things such as leading, guiding, comforting and strengthening, one of His most important works is this: And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Cor 3:18). Did you notice that last part? “….which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”.
We are becoming ‘as He is’ by the Lord, which is the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is shaping and causing you to be like Jesus, reflecting and in synergy with the Head, doing the will of the Father. All this by the power of the Holy Spirit, at work, right now, in you!
