The Kingdom of God as described in the Bible, separates itself from what we most associate life with. Here is what the Bible states: "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17)
What the Bible does portray is a kingdom that is exhibited through three powerful conditions we find ourselves living in through what Christ obtained for us by HIs death and resurrection - righteousness, peace and joy.
Firstly, RIGHTEOUSNESS is the granted new-identity position you occupy before God; un-condemned by the Father, with the Bible stating in 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Secondly, you have the place of PEACE available and lived in, provided through the Prince of Peace, Jesus. It is up to you to stay in that place of peace; Philippians 4:6-7 says, "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Finally, JOY sustains the hope-filled and expectant truster in Christ.
All three elements are “in the Holy Spirit”, meaning you are not to be filled with the spirit of this world, which is anti-Christ, but with the Spirit of God that gives life to us who are in that kingdom of life.
